Per 501(c)3 guidelines, we have organized a talented and knowledgable Board of Directors who are in the education spaces around the globe and can offer insight and leadership.
Dr. Estella Chen
Advisory Board Member
Dr. Chen is the founder and CEO of MandarinX, an online Chinese teaching program that strives to make learning the language more accessible to a global audience. Previously, she was a professor at universities conducting business English courses, which assisted students in developing their level of general English alongside preparing them for writing academic texts and presenting seminars. She obtained her Master of Education from the University of Southern California and earned her Doctor of Education from the USC Rossier School of Education, where her dissertation on Mandarin education won the Dissertation of the Year award. At GEE, her passion for language and culture continues to thrive.
Dr. Charles Prince
Advisory Board Member
Dr. Prince is a higher education leader and administrator who currently serves as the Vice President of Shorter College, as well as the Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer of Family Heirloom Private Foundation. His extensive experience working in higher education spans across several universities on an international scale, with many of them being Historically Black Colleges and Universities. He obtained his Master of Arts from the George Washington University and earned his Doctor of Education at the University of Southern California. His drive for spearheading university-wide initiatives and enhancing student-centered operations makes him an invaluable contributor to the mission at GEE.
Dr. Nefertiti Makeda
Advisory Board Member
Dr. Makeda has been invested in global education for over twenty years, during which she has taken part in conceptualizing, building, and leading several educational institutions with her commitment to creating modern and diverse communities. She founded the Andinet International School of Ethiopia, which has taught thousands of students from pre-kindergarten through the 12th grade, and presently serves as the Director of Community and Belonging at Norfolk Collegiate. She obtained her Master of Education from Endicott College and earned her Doctor of Education from the USC Rossier School of Education. With her gift for fostering inclusivity and cultural competency, she continues to promote global education at GEE.
